RECENT BUILD - MEET THE FRANCEVICS
“There
is definitely a marked difference in confidence from our clients.
Quality has always been prevalent for the David Reid Homes brand,
but in the last couple of years, clients have gone without a few
of the over-and-above extras they would have liked to put in their
homes due to budgetary constraints’ in an obvious response
to the tough economy.
However, this factor definitely appears to be changing, as our more
recent clients are returning to extremely high specified homes,
requiring all the latest in technology, appliances and fittings.
The Francevic’s are a great example of that”. Martin
Wiltshire of David Reid Homes North Shore explains.
Robbie and Rosita Francevic have witnessed the changes throughout
the decades at Orewa. As owners of the last original batch on the
beachfront, they have always wanted to build their dream home on
what most would deem to be a dream site.
With 180 degree views with no obstruction, they knew they had to
optimise the house to live up to the location. Although it had been
in the family for many years, the timing had to be right for them.
As a renowned New Zealand racing car driver, Robbie’s career
took precedent, but now time demands were off, they were keen to
pursue their vision.

From council
requirements, architectural planning and building through to the
finishing touches, David Reid Homes worked closely with Rosita and
Robbie to realise this project’s full potential.
This resulted
in a 435 square metre architectural home, which features various
living spaces, a kitchen with motorised cabinets surrounding the
latest Melei appliances and attached butler’s kitchen. Two
separate staircases take you to the upper level, which lead you
on to a separate master wing and guest wings. It also boasts, not
surprisingly, multi car garaging, a multi room controlled audio
system and over-sized outside living space that allows their guests
to watch Orewa’s beach and sea life in comfort.
Martin says, “We’re really proud of this project and
I know Rosita and Robbie are as well. It’s satisfying to see
that clients are starting to realise the full potential of their
dream homes again. (This
